A Birthday Surprise to Remember: Matt Meets Winnie, His Tri Merle Micro Bully

Some puppy stories feel special from the very beginning – and this one started with a plan months in the making. When Zahra reached out to us at Southeast Bully Kennels, she already knew exactly what she wanted: the perfect birthday gift for her husband, Matt. Not just any puppy – a tri merle micro American Bully female from a bloodline she trusted.

What she didn’t know yet was how deeply her family would fall in love with the little girl they would soon name Winnie.

A Connection That Started Long Before Pickup Day

Zahra first contacted us after seeing the incredible temperament and structure of a American Bully we produced (off Fresh Prince x Diva) for her friend English from Nashville. English’s chocolate tri micro bully made a huge impression on their entire family — especially Matt and their three kids. Every time they were around him, the reaction was the same:

“We need one of our own.”

That’s when Zahra decided to turn Matt’s birthday into something unforgettable.

Winnie: Produced In‑House From Icepick x River

Winnie wasn’t just any puppy – she came from one of our most anticipated in‑house breedings: Icepick × River, a pairing where both parents were produced and raised right here at Southeast Bully Kennels.

This breeding is known for:

  • Micro bully structure
  • Stable, confident temperaments
  • Correct movement and bone
  • Distinctive color genetics, including merle and tri combinations

You can learn more about our program and breeding philosophy on our Breeding Pairs Page – Show Quality Micro and Pocket Bully Breeder – Southeast Bully Kennels.

From the moment Winnie opened her eyes, we knew she had that “it” factor – the look, the personality, and the intelligence that make a micro bully truly stand out.

Training, Socialization, and Early Development

While in our care, Winnie received the full Southeast Bully Kennels foundation:

  • Early socialization with multiple animals and environments
  • Recall training
  • Crate conditioning
  • Potty training foundations
  • Name recognition – she learned “Winnie” quickly
  • Group and individual training sessions, all documented for the family

We sent Zahra and Matt regular video updates so they could watch her progress week by week. These early foundations make a tremendous difference in confidence, behavior, and adaptability once a puppy goes home.

Family Visits Before Pickup Day

One of the things we love most is when families come to meet their puppy before the official pickup. Zahra and Matt visited Winnie during her training period, giving them a chance to bond early and see her personality firsthand.

These visits always make the final pickup even more meaningful – and in this case, perfectly timed.

Pickup Weekend: The Birthday Surprise

When Matt arrived for his birthday weekend, he had no idea what was waiting for him. The moment he held Winnie, everything clicked. You can see it in his face – that instant connection that only happens once.

We captured the moment in a YouTube Short on our official channel.

A Perfect Match

Today, Winnie is thriving with her new family. Zahra, Matt, and all three kids are absolutely in love with her – and it shows in every update they send us. This is why we do what we do: not just producing high‑quality micro and pocket bullies, but creating lifelong connections between families and their dogs.

Stories like this remind us that every puppy has a purpose, and every family has a chapter waiting to be written.
