A Special Outcross Breeding: Icepick × Reesie and the Journey of Seven New Puppies

Every once in a while, a breeding opportunity comes along that checks every box – structure, temperament, health, and the chance to introduce something completely new into our program. That’s exactly what happened when we partnered with Kristin and her beautiful female, Reesie, an outcrossed American Bully with zero inbreeding in her pedigree. Her clean lineage and impressive look immediately caught our attention, and pairing her with our stud Icepick became an easy decision.

This breeding produced seven healthy puppies, each carrying the best traits from both parents. Below is a look into the journey – from newborns, to early training, to placing our four puppies with families across the United States.

The Newborn Litter: Seven Puppies Arrive Strong

Reesie delivered a stunning litter of seven. Their structure, bone, and head shape were evident from day one, and the consistency across the litter made this pairing something truly special.

As part of our agreement and hands‑on support throughout the process, we received four puppies from the litter.

Traveling to Virginia to Pick Up Our Puppies

When the puppies reached five weeks old, I traveled to Virginia to meet Kristin and pick up our four pups. The moment we loaded them up, their next chapter began – and so did their training.

Early Training Begins at 5 Weeks Old

At Southeast Bully Kennels, we believe early training builds confident, well‑balanced dogs. The moment our puppies arrived home at five weeks, we began:

  • Name recognition
  • Early recall
  • Crate introduction
  • Socialization with animals and environments
  • Confidence‑building exercises
  • Group and individual handling

Even at this young age, the puppies responded quickly. Their focus and willingness to work showed just how strong this pairing truly was.

By 6 Weeks Old: Daily Training Already Showing Results

Just one week later, the difference was obvious. Their recall improved, their confidence grew, and they were already demonstrating the foundation we had been building with them every day.

This is the standard we hold ourselves to – consistent, hands‑on development that prepares each puppy for success in their new homes.

All Four Puppies Placed With Families Across the United States

This week, all four of our puppies found their forever homes with families across the country. Each family received:

We’re proud of the work we put into this litter and excited to watch these puppies grow into exceptional representatives of the breed.
